These dog's owners are looking to re-home their pets. Please contact the owners directly if you're interested in adopting one of these dogs. DAWG does not have documentation or information on these dogs or what their medical and behavioral histories are-- we would simply like to provide a resource to assist these owners in their search for a new home for their dogs. We also list some dogs here that are currently living at other rescues. Some of these dogs may also be lost and looking for their owners.

I am a nine-year-old Australian Shepherd with a ton of life, energy and love to give. I was rescued eight years ago. When my family brought me home they began to see I had issues socializing and had clearly been through something that they were not aware of. They hired trainers.  Then came my favorite person, Michelle from Trail Dogs. She saw the real me and knew that with the right encouragement I would blossom to be the beautiful dog that I am today. It wasn't the easiest road but now, 2 1/2 years later, I have worked my butt off from not being able to walk by a fence with dogs behind it, to being able to enjoy hikes with a pack of dogs! I have so much potential and I am SO smart; you can teach me anything!!  I am a really great guy with a ton of potential. I would be best in a home as an only dog (though I have lived with a female shepherd my whole life) and with no, or older, kids. I need to be with someone that understands my needs and can provide me with structure and boundaries. I am so sweet and love going on hikes and adventures. I am crate trained (car & home), e-collar trained, house broken, neutered and up to date on my vaccines. I am ready to go!   (currently in San Diego)  Contact Michelle @ 424.625.8067   (2-12)

Stella and Nellie- 5 yo Labrador Sisters

Through no fault of their own.these girls have already had 3 homes and have remained as sweet as sugar!

As puppies the lived in Montecito  for 3 years until their dad got cancer.

He asked a horse trainer friend on a big ranch in Santa Ynez to keep them while he got better.

He did not get better and after 8 mos living outside and running on a ranch without belonging to a "family" the sweet bonded

sisters were taken in by a lovely retired Father from the local church and his darling wife.

During this year the girls have been lovely in the home, never even stealing food or getting on the furniture!

They know "place" as their beds and stay their wagging their tails when they want to engage and wiggle with company.

They go on leashed walks twice a week and are friendly with other dogs...and also good on the ranch with horses.

Stella is a little chunkier and the boss..but not too bossy.

Nellie is the taller thinner Chocolate girl waiting with a smile to get her hug after a family with more people is perfect for the girls!

It was so nice that their current caregivers want what is best for the girls. It;s bitter sweet for them, but selfless too.

They are getting on in age and their balance issues and slower lifestyle isn't perfect for these adorable girls.

They need some  daily action and socializing more.

Family dogs that want to go places and walk everyday and study watch TV and sleep in your room when your home.

They have proved that they are non destructive with less, but obviously they are healthy younger dogs who want to

live the rest of their lives seeing more of what the world has to offer.

They have been through several changes so they have been the constant in each others lives.

They SHARE the SAME DOG BED at night!

They are living in Solvang and their current people want the best home for them.

Feature 3

Riley is a handsome 1 and a half year old Catahoula Leopard mix, and weighs about 50 lbs.

He hasn't spent much time around children, but is good with most dogs. He is friendly when meeting new people, but is sometimes hesitant with new men (but warms up quick when offered a treat!).

He is neutered, up to date on shots, and is micro chipped. He is a high energy pup and loves going on walks. Riley loves to snuggle, play tug-of-war, and chase a ball! He is very smart, loyal, loving and protective. Needs to work on barking a little too much, and doesn’t like cats.

Riley is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands. We appreciate your help in finding him a new home.
